A l'Adrián Agustín la recerca li ha permès "millorar la meva capacitat d'organització i planificació del treball". Actualment és investigador del Grup de Processament del Senyal i Comunicacions i participa en el projecte Rocket.
El projecte Rocket té com a objectiu intentar millorar els sistemes de comunicació sense fils. Es proposen una sèrie de solucions com la introducció de repetidors i el disseny de tècniques per a utilitzar-los, per millorar les comunicacions, tenir més amplada de banda, és a dir, poder transmetre més informació i intentar que, a nivell cel·lular tots els usuaris puguin tenir una molt bona cobertura per a transmissions per Internet, transmissió de dades.
S'ha observat que l'espectre radioelèctric està infrautilitzat en llocs i hores del dia determinats. En aquest escenari, els investigadors plantegen que tant els terminals mòbils com les estacions bases detectin si al seu entorn és possible utilitzar aquestes bandes per incrementar la velocitat de transmissió de la informació. Així mateix el projecte proposa desplegar terminals repetidors molt petits i econòmics, i augmentar significativament les prestacions de les xarxes sense fils.

Research has helped Adrián Agustín increase his ability to ‘organise and plan’ his work. He is currently a researcher in the Signal Processing and Communications Group and participates in the Rocket project, which aims to enhance wireless communication systems.
Within the framework of the project, a variety of solutions have been proposed, including introducing relays and designing the necessary techniques to use them to improve communications, increasing bandwidth to make it possible to transmit more information, and trying to ensure that, at the cellular level, all users have very good coverage for Internet transmissions and data transfer.
The radio spectrum has been observed to be underused in certain places and at certain times of day. In such cases, the researchers are investigating the option of using both mobile terminals and base stations to detect whether the idle bandwidth can be used to increase the speed of data transmission. The project likewise proposes deploying very small and affordable relay terminals and significantly increasing the performance of wireless networks.
